I have been a Stephen King fan since Carrie.  I've had the socks scared off me by Salem's Lot, The Shining and It (undoubtedly the scariest books I've ever read), been thoroughly entertained by Night Shift, The Stand, The Dead Zone, Firestarter, Cujo, Different Seasons, Christine, Pet Sematary, Thinner, Skeleton Crew, Misery, Four Past Midnight, Needful Things, and many, many more (including some of his non-fiction.)&n

I never - NEVER - read Vampire books.  And although I love fantasy, I've never been much of a fan of "urban fantasy".  Until now.  I picked up Patricia Briggs' first book in the Mercy Thompson series, Moon Called, in Florida last summer (I needed some beach reading.)  She had been recommended to me, and I found the book at a great used book store in Mandarin (Jacksonville) - Black Sheep Books on Old St. Augustine Rd.
